Bayelsa Govt Holds Day One Solemn Assembly Service

Bayelsa StateGovernor, Senator Douye Diri alongside his wife, Dr. Gloria Diri, the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, joined other government officials to attend the Day One of the Solemn Assembly Thanksgiving Service.
The solemn assembly thanksgiving service which took place at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall in Yenagoa, is in preparation for the 14th Annual Thanksgiving in the state.
Governor Diri in his remarks, said the annual thanksgiving service has become a way of life of the state government and the people of the state since the inception of the immediate past administration.
“For all of us, Bayelsans, we have every reason to thank God, because we know where we are coming from, right from the creation of the state.
“We may not be where we expect to be, but we are moving forward. Bayelsa before creation and Bayelsa now, there is a remarkable difference, and it behoves you and I to continue to pray for the state.
“So, for the three days that this solemn assembly will be taking place, I invite all of you to be part of it, so that we can pray for our state,” Governor Diri added.
Dignitaries at the solemn assembly include, HRM, King Alfred Diete-Spiff, Amayanabo of Twon-Brass and first Military Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, Speaker, Bayelsa State House of Assembly and other members of the state House of Assembly,
Others are; Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, Secretary to the state government, members of the state executive council, HRM, King Bubaraye Dakolo, AGADA IV, Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom and Chairman, Bayelsa State council of Traditional Rulers, other traditional rulers, ministers of God and other top government officials.
