Bayelsa West UOA, IJBCOE Students Lauds Senator Dickson’s Achievements, Declare Total Support.
Student Union Leadership of University of Africa (UOA) Toru-Orua and Isaac Jasper Boro College of Education (IJBCOE) Sagbama, has applauded the notable achievements of the former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West, Henry Seriake Dickson, and declare their total support to ensure his reelection in the 2023 general election.
The student union leaderships made the commendation during a strategic meeting with the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Petroleum Task Force, Hon. Samuel Richman in Sagbama and Toru-Orua Communities respectively, to chat the way forward in improving the two institutions for better learning environment.
The student union leaderships applauded the former Governor and Senator representing the Senatorial district for the establishment of the following socio-economic developmental projects:
“The establishment of the long awaited senatorial district road (Bayelsa West) linking autonomous Communities of Sagbama and Ekeremor Local Government Areas, which has greatly improved the transportation system and other socio-economic activities in the Senatorial district, the State and the Niger Delta region at large.
“The establishment of a world-class standard modern cassava processing factory fully furnished with all necessary modern equipments in Ebedebiri Community, with the motive of solving the problems of cassava processing by farmers and creation of employment.
“The establishment of a modern standard poultry farm from foundation to completion fully furnished with all necessary equipments in Ebedebiri Community, with the sole aim of creating employment for well-meaning Bayelsans and Niger Deltans at large.
“The establishment of a world-class standard modern fish pond fully furnished with all the necessary equipments for effective functioning and viability in Angalabiri Community, which is the largest fish pond in the State, with the sole purpose of boasting economic activities in the State.
“The establishment of a world-class standard modern Referral General Hospital fully equipped with all necessary modern medical facilities in Sagbama Community to improve healthcare services to the people of the State and the Niger Delta region at large.
Some student leaders while speaking stated the great need for the reelection of the national lawmaker representing the senatorial district, Senator Dickson, in order to continuously speak and defend the Ijaw Nation in the national assembly fearlessly and gallantly mostly at this critical point that Senator James Manager won’t be returning to the Red Chamber (Senate).
They declared their total support and reassured full commitment in mobilizing massive support/votes for the reelection of the national lawmaker representing the senatorial district in order to attract more developmental projects to the senatorial district and the niger delta region at large, considering his tremendous performance in less than two years in the senate.
They used the medium to applaud Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State for the accreditation of all courses offered in the Isaac Jasper Boro College of Education Sagbama, including the continuation of provision of students loans through the State Higher Education Student Loan Board, which was initiated by the former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West, Henry Seriake Dickson.
They further promised to organize a rally of one thousand march in bayelsa west, mostly comprising of youth and women bodies to galvanize massive support towards the victory and reelection of the senator representing the senatorial district, Henry Seriake Dickson, and also, to support the Governor Douye Diri led prosperity administration in the State.
Hon. Richman while responding appreciated the student union leaderships of the two higher institutions (University of Africa Toru-Orua and Isaac Jasper Boro College of Education Sagbama) for the courtesy visit and the great need to chat the way forward by building a stronger cordial working relationship between students and the government.
Richman further urged the students to always imbibe good morals and prioritize their studies with utmost dedication that will result to excellent academic performance which will create an enabling environment for excellence in different areas of life, stressing that quality education and good morals is the foundation for one to excel exceedingly in different ramifications.
