Breaking: Bagou Resigns PDP, Thanks Diri, Dickson, Others

Public commentator and coordinator of Bayelsa West Youth Frontiers (BWYF), Comrade Preye Bagou, has tendered his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), referencing prolonged internal party issues that tends to be unresolvable.

Bagou, who made known his official resignation from the PDP through his facebook handle, said the party is no longer viable as an opposition to contend with the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hotnews reports that the resignation letter addressed to the PDP Ward 11 Chairman, Bagou thanked the party and its leadership for privileges and support accorded to him during the duration of membership of the party.

According to the official resignation statement, he said the PDP current state doesn’t guarantee his political career as a fast-growing foresighted young politician with growing future ambitions of service to the people.

Bagou extended profound gratitude to the Governor, Senator Douye Diri, and former Governor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson for all privileges, opportunities accorded to render selfless service in different capacity.

He also extended profound gratitude to God Almighty for infinite grace mercy, protection, and to his family for their support, encouragement.

The statement read in parts: “I hereby humbly and respectfully tender my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the pursuit of my political career.

“PDP as a political party has been faced with unresolvable and irreconcilable internal issues bugged down with several litigations, and leadership tussle among political gladiators in the party.

“As a fast-growing foresighted young politician, I can no longer risk my political career with the PDP, as a political party which its dominance and relevance weakens by the day, even as an opposition party.

“I want to use this medium to extend my profound gratitude to the party, and the leadership for all the opportunities despite my short membership of the party from 2023 till date.

“I want to also overwhelmingly thank my boss and benefactor, the Governor, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, whose peaceful, friendly, humble style of leadership led to my defection to the party.

“Also, I want to extend my profound gratitude to the former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West, His Excellency, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson for all the opportunities to serve the party in different capacity.

“Most importantly, I want to thank God Almighty for His unending grace and mercy upon my life, since I made the decision to pursue a political career. Father, I give you all the glory and adoration for my existence, and political growth so far.

“Lastly, I want to extend my warm regards to my family and friends for your support, encouragement, and guidance. May God bless you all bountifully.

“Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
