Bulou-Orua-Toru-ebeni Road: Diri Only Remobilized The Old Contractor To Site – PDP Chieftain Caution Prosperity Government Data Boys

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Chief Perekeme Wilson has cautioned data boys of the Prosperity Government to be professional and factual in their media reports while promoting the policies and programmes of the Governor Douye Diri led Prosperity Government.

The Toru-Orua, Bulou-Orua, Kabeama, Amatolo, Okumbiri and Toru-Ebeni road is a project initiated by the Restoration Government which the project was awarded to a reputable construction company (HMG Nigeria Limited), and a great level of work was done before the current administration.

Perekeme in a statement sent to hotnews expressed total dissatisfaction over media reports of projects initiated by the Restoration Government been attributed to the Prosperity Government by some members of the Bayelsa State New Media while trying to impress their paymaster.

Governor Douye Diri only remobilized the old contractor and construction company to site to continue the road project and not a fresh project as proclaimed by some data boys of the Prosperity Government, considering the economic importance of the project to the respective communities and the state at large.

Perekeme stated that all the concerned communities were fully compensated with proper information of the commencement of the laudable road project starting from the clearing to the sand filling of the project by the Restoration Government led by Henry Seriake Dickson.

Prosperity Government data boys should put the record straight that the government only remobilized the old contractor to site to continue from the previous government, and not a fresh project awarded to any construction company as reported by some data boys of the government.

Further setting the record straight, the clearing and sand filling of the road between Toru-Orua and Bulou-Orua communities was completed including few bridges which was under construction before the current administration.

Members of the New Media in the Prosperity Government must set the record straight by making factual reports and accurate informations on projects, policies and programmes of the government while carrying out their functions to prevent misinformation of the general public.

Governor Douye Diri has done very well on the continuation of existing projects in the state which is highly commendable, but the governor shouldn’t take full responsibility of such projects to glorify his administration as projects initiated and completed by its administration.

The Prosperity Government is a product of the Restoration Government as governance is continuity, which makes it needless trying to de-market the laudable achievements of the previous administration by attributing projects of the previous administration to the current administration.

Governance is continuity which the current administration has done tremendously, but taking sole responsibility of projects initiated and almost completed in the previous administration in bid to impress well-meaning Bayelsans and the general public of performance must be condemned totally.

Perekeme condemned in strong terms of the deliberate public actions of members of the Prosperity Government de-marketing and downgrading the laudable achievements of the Restoration Government led by Henry Seriake Dickson, which calls for a great concern.

The Governor Douye Diri led Prosperity Government has recorded some level of achievement in infrastructure as a result of the different laudable legacy developmental projects initiated and almost completed by the Restoration Government led by Henry Seriake Dickson.

Perekeme urged Governor Douye Diri and his data boys to be bold enough to tell well-meaning Bayelsans and the general public the truth that the contractor was only remobilized to site to continue the road project, and not a fresh project as reported on press media and social media platforms.
