Dickson Attends Hensard University 1st Matriculation, Induction Ceremony

Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, attended the maiden matriculation and induction ceremony of Hensard University at Toru-Orua community in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The former governor and senator made this known through his official facebook handle, said education is the only reliable weapon to be used in changing any human being and society due to the benefits of acquiring quality formal education.

Senator Dickson said Hensard University’s focus from the beginning has been total development of humans and not just academic excellence to be mentors of various fields and captains of industry, as the university is prepared towards transforming the education system.

“We are working with stakeholders, institutions and parastatals to start our professional courses in Law, Medicine, Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy amongst others for admission for the next academic session beginning in January, 2025,” he added.

Senator Dickson called on students of Hensard University to be focused by doing their utmost best, knowing fully well the high standards the institution has set towards achieving academic excellence.

He also called on the Vice Chancellor and his team to continue to do their best so that Hensard University in no distant time will distinguish itself as one of the best universities in academic excellence, skills development and industry mentorship to produce leaders and captains of industry.

Senator Dickson thanked Traditional Rulers, Community leaders, State and Local Governments, including stakeholders and agencies who have supported the Hensard vision.

The statement read in parts: “Yesterday, Hensard University held its Maiden Matriculation ceremony at which I attended as Chancellor.

“After directing the admissions of students in accordance with the University protocol, I made a remark congratulating the students and thanked the Community leaders, Local Government, State Government Traditional Rulers and all Stakeholders who have supported the Hensard vision.

“As I said, education is the only reliable tool to be used in changing any human society. I call on students to be focused, do their utmost, knowing the high standards the University has set.

“I call on the Vice Chancellor and his team to continue to do their best so that Hensard University in no distant time will distinguish itself as one of the best universities combining academic excellence, skills development and industry mentorship to produce leaders and captains of industry.

“Hensard’s focus from the beginning has been total development of the human being not just academic excellence. I congratulate all, I also used the opportunity to say our preparedness to start off the second year.

“We are working with the stakeholders to start our professional courses in Law, Medicine Engineering, Nursing , Pharmacy among others for admission for the next session beginning January 2025.
