Dickson Participates In Panel Discussion On Climate Change

The Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, His Excellency, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, yesterday, participated in a panel discussion on climate change security summit organized by the National Climate Council (NCC).

The former Governor and Senator made this known through his official facebook handle, described the climate change security summit as a great step in the right direction towards proffering lasting solutions to climate change in the Country.

Senator Dickson said all hands must be on deck for the sensitization, collaboration and support for the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC), in accordance with the Act.

He said the national lawmakers are united on the need for President Bola Tinubu to operationalize the Nigerian Climate Fund, and activate the Nigerian Climate Council basically.

The federal lawmaker stated that the President as the Chairman of the Nigerian Climate Council, should get all the ministries to key-in to the climate change agenda, and work with the National Council on Climate Change to achieve tangible results.

The statement read in parts: “Today, I gave a goodwill message and participated in a panel discussion on Climate Change, organised by The National Climate Council.

“I said all hands must be on deck for the sensitization, collaboration and support for the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC) in accordance with the Act.

“We are united on the need for the President to operationalise the Nigerian Climate Fund and activate the Nigerian Climate Council of which he is Chairman, and get all Ministries to key-in to the climate agenda and work with the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC).

“We as legislators, the National Assembly is willing to do our own part.
