Diri Commissions Premium Trust Bank’s Second Branch
Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has described the opening of a second branch of Premium Trust Bank in Yenagoa as a strong demonstration of investor confidence in the state’s growing economy.
Hotnews reports that Governor Diri stated this on Monday while commissioning the bank’s new branch at the Etegwe/Edepie Roundabout axis of Yenagoa, noting that Bayelsa was entering a new phase of economic opportunities.
The Governor said the coming on stream of the state’s 60-megawatt independent power plant would significantly improve electricity supply, stimulate businesses, attract investments, create jobs and enhance the quality of life of residents.
He stressed the need for strong financial institutions to provide innovative banking solutions and easier access to capital, urging Premium Trust Bank to expand its operations to local government headquarters and other commercial and university communities, including Amassoma and Otuoke.
Governor Diri noted that improved access to modern financial services would deepen financial inclusion and support traders, farmers, fishermen, artisans, civil servants, women, entrepreneurs and young business owners.
Accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Peter Akpe, the Governor urged residents to take advantage of the peaceful and secure environment created by his administration to establish and grow sustainable businesses, while commending the bank for its professionalism and commitment to customer service.
Earlier, the bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Emmanuel Emefienim, said the new branch reaffirmed Premium Trust Bank’s long-term commitment to the development of Bayelsa State.
He assured that the bank would combine physical branches with digital banking solutions to make financial services more accessible, while supporting businesses and contributing to the state’s economic growth and development.
