Diri Hoarding N6B New Naira Notes In Government House For Vote Buying – APC Publicity Secretary

The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Comrade Preye Bagou has accused the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri of hoarding N6 billion naira in government house for vote buying.

Bagou while addressing newsmen of hotnews in Yenagoa the state capital described the deed of the governor as insensitive and cruel considering the sufferings of the populace due to the scarcity of the new naira notes in the state.

Recall that there had been scarcity of new naira notes in various states across the country for the past few weeks due to the ban of the use of the old naira notes without sufficient supply of the new naira notes across the country.

Hotnews gathered that Governor Douye Diri has been hoarding N6 billion naira of the new naira notes supplied to banks by the Central Bank of Nigeria while the populace had been experiencing scarcity of the new naira notes in the state.

Bagou stated that Bayelsans had been experiencing difficult circumstances as a result of the scarcity of the new naira notes which has made life very difficult for the populace since the deadline for the use of old naira notes across the country.

“Governor Douye Diri is hoarding all new naira notes coming to the state instead of circulating the new naira notes supplied to various banks by the Central Bank of Nigeria in the state to make life easier for the populace.

Hotnews gathered that the governor is hoarding all new naira notes coming to the state to fund PDP candidates in the forthcoming general election in the various wards of the eight local government areas across the state.

“The governor has perfected plans to use the hoarded funds to buy votes for PDP presidential candidate, state and national assembly candidates of the party to ensure their victory in the forthcoming general election.

It is a very appalling and pathetic circumstance that Governor Douye Diri is hoarding new naira notes supplied to the state despite the fact that Bayelsans are faced with so much hunger since the inception of the current administration.

Bagou call on the Economic and Financial Crime Commission and other federal government corruption agencies to investigate the governor to ensure that the new naira notes are circulated to alleviate the sufferings of residents in the state.
