Gov. Diri Pays Tribute To Late Agbiaowei, Celebrates Her Life of Love & Service

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has joined family members, friends and dignitaries to bid farewell to Late Madam Tonpreye Agbiaowei at a funeral service held in Igbedi community, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the state.

Hotnews gathered that Late Madam Agbiaowei was a close relation of the Governor’s wife, Mrs. Gloria Diri.

Speaking at the funeral service, Governor Diri described the deceased as more than an in-law, but also a friend whose life was marked by love, enterprise and service to others.

The Governor said the death of Madam Agbiaowei was painful, noting that she believed in herself and used her entrepreneurial and sewing skills to positively impact the lives of others.

According to him, the deceased was a virtuous woman who demonstrated love to everyone she encountered and touched many lives with the little opportunities available to her.

Governor Diri expressed gratitude for the life she lived and the positive memories she left behind, while offering his condolences to the family and praying for the peaceful repose of her soul.

The Governor was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Gloria Diri; Leader of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday Obolo; members of the State House of Assembly; members of the State Executive Council; Local Government Chairmen; Bishop Zilly Agrey and other spiritual leaders, as well as other senior government officials.
