Diri Receives Isampou Elders, Seeks Unity Behind Agbiki

A delegation of stakeholders from Isampou Community in Ekeremor Local Government Area, led by its Paramount Ruler, HRH Edward Oyaotuderikumor, paid a thank-you visit to Governor Douye Diri over the choice of their son, Dr. Fidelis Agbiki, as APC Candidate in Bayelsa West Senatorial District for the 2027 general election.

Hotnews reports that the high-powered delegation of political and traditional leaders from Isampou community, expressed profound gratitude to the Governor for the choice of their illustrious son, Dr. Agbiki as the APC Candidate in Bayelsa West District.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Hon. Perekeme Bertola described Agbiki’s candidacy as a collective project of the Isampou people, noting that residents of both Sagbama and Ekeremor local government areas were already mobilising support to ensure his landslide victory at the polls.

While responding to the high-powered delegation, Governor Douye Diri said his support for Chief Agbiki was in line with the encouragement and backing he also received from leaders and stakeholders as Governor of Bayelsa State since inception in office.

He stressed that the choice of Agbiki was based on fairness, equity and competence for political balance in the senatorial district.

The Governor described Agbiki as a man of wisdom, intellect and strong cultural values, expressing confidence in his ability to provide quality representation for Bayelsa West in the Senate.

Governor Diri urged party members and supporters to unite behind the APC candidate, warning against personal ambition and division.

He expressed satisfaction that Agbiki’s nomination had received widespread acceptance across the senatorial district, describing it as a positive sign for the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
