Diri Receives Renaissance African Energy Company

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri received a courtesy visit of the management of Renaissance African Energy Company in Government House, Yenagoa.

Hot News gathered the Renaissance African Energy Company is the new operators of former Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC).

In his remarks, Governor Douye Diri appealed for partnership with the energy company in the area of electricity generation and distribution for more stable power supply to Bayelsans and the State.

“I think the first area we should look at, is energy security, and that’s by generating and distributing a more stable and affordable electricity for the consumption of Bayelsans.

“For your information on our area of partnership, we are currently working on having our own independent generation and distribution as a state.

“We are working with a private energy company called John Paul, and we are in the process of procuring 60Mega Watts gas turbine for the generation and distribution of power supply to Bayelsans.

“We have assured our people that by the end of this year, we will have our own independent power supply, and that is one area we need to partner with your energy company.

“So, our government partnership with your energy company is to intervene and facilitate the piping of the gas to our expected new facility in Elebele.

In his remarks, Dr. Layi Fatona, the Board Chairman of the Renaissance African Energy Company appreciated the governor and the government for been supportive of their business.

He further thanked Governor Diri for the remarkable achievements of his administration, stating that it is in line with the vision of their company.
