Diri, Lokpobiri, Others Celebrates Alagba At 90

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri has joined other prominent Bayelsans to attend the birthday celebration of the Amananaowei of Ikibiri Community, His Royal Highness (HRH), Jonathan Coastman Alagba at the Pees Hub event centre in Yenagoa.

The governor was accompanied by the Honorable Minister of State For Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri and top government functionaries of the Bayelsa state government to grace the birthday celebration of the elder statesman in the state capital.

In his remarks, Governor Douye Diri appreciated everyone that came out en masse far and near to celebrate the monarch, noting that traditional leaders should be celebrated by all as fathers and elder statesmen.

“For us as a State, we will continue to celebrate our fathers, and our elders who have brought up their children in the way that they should grow, and they will not depart from it.

“Our daddy the birthday celebrant, on behalf of your government and the good people of Bayelsa state, I wish you hearty congratulations and happy 90th birthday to you Sir.

“Once again, I want to appreciate all of you who have turned out in your numbers, from the oil and gas industry, the Traditional Rulers Council, and all of us that came out to honour the age of our father.

Other dignitaries who were in attendance are: Secretary to Bayelsa State Government, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, State Assembly members, Executive Council members, and other top government functionaries.

Others are the Amayanabo of Twon-Brass and first military Governor of Old
Rivers State, King Alfred Diete-Spiff, Chairman of Traditional Rulers Council, HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo and other traditional rulers.
