Diri Worked Against His Predecessor, Dickson In The Concluded National Assembly Elections – PDP Chieftain
A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Bayelsa State, Chief Perekeme Wilson has accused the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri of working against the reelection of his predecessor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson in the concluded national assembly elections.
Investigations indicate that Governor Douye Diri and some government house political appointees sponsored the opposition party, the APC senatorial candidate against the PDP senatorial candidate in the concluded national assembly elections in bayelsa west senatorial district.
Chief Perekeme made this known while addressing newsmen of hotnews in Yenagoa the state capital described the actions of Governor Douye Diri as ingratitude and betrayal of sponsoring the opposition party senatorial candidate against his predecessor, Senator Dickson.
Chief Perekeme stated that Governor Douye Diri’s initial plan was to deny his predecessor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson from getting the PDP Bayelsa West Senatorial ticket with the sole purpose of reducing his political reputation and relevance in the state, with the fear of controlling the government.
“Governor Douye Diri connived with PDP state executives, stakeholders and serving state house of assembly members of the party in Ekeremor local government area to convene a meeting in the party secretariat and reaffirm the mutual understanding in bid to stop the senator representing the senatorial district reelection” he said.
Chief Perekeme stated categorically that the reaffirmation of the mutual understanding in Bayelsa West Senatorial District was geared towards depriving the former governor and senator representing the senatorial district of the PDP senatorial ticket to contest the February 25th national assembly elections.
Investigations indicate that the governor and government house political appointees has perfected plans to ensure that the mutual understanding in Bayelsa west senatorial district is maintained by rotating the national assembly seats in the forthcoming national assembly elections.
Chief Perekeme stated that the primary objective of the governor and the government house appointees is geared towards stopping the current senator representing the senatorial district, Henry Seriake Dickson from contesting for the senatorial seat in further national assembly elections.
“I totally condemn the actions of Governor Douye Diri in sponsoring the opposition party the APC senatorial candidate against the reelection bid of his predecessor, Senator Dickson who made everything possible for Douye Diri’s emergence as Senator and Governor of the State” he said.
Chief Perekeme added that Governor Douye Diri should be expecting the same betrayal from leaders and stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party in the November 11th gubernatorial election in the State, since he has chosen the path of betrayal as the best way of handling the affairs of the party.
In another regard, hotnews gathered that the PDP recorded huge success in the concluded national assembly elections by winning almost all the national assembly seats as a result of the disunity in the Bayelsa State APC, where party candidates worked against each other in the election.
