Diri Congratulates Tinubu As APC Presidential Candidate, Reaffirms Support For 2027

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded party presidential primary election as preparations towards the 2027 general elections.

Hotnews reports that President Tinubu emerged as winner after polling a total of 10,999,162 votes to defeat his challenger, Mr Stanley Osifo, who polled a total of 16,503 votes in the APC presidential primary election.

Governor Diri described President Tinubu’s emergence as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in the President by members of the ruling party across the country, noting that the outcome of the APC presidential primary, has demonstrated unity and democratic process within the party.

The Bayelsa Governor, who also serves as Chairman of the South-South Governors Forum, commended party faithful for conducting themselves peacefully during the presidential primary election held on Saturday.

He applauded the peaceful conduct of the presidential primary election witnessed across the wards and local government areas during the exercise, particularly in Bayelsa State where the primary election was largely peaceful with mass participation of members.

Senator Diri stated that Tinubu’s victory at the primary election has further strengthened the APC’s resolve to consolidate on its achievements and continue delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigerians.

According to him, the overwhelming support received by the President from party leaders, stakeholders and members across the country, is a clear indication that the APC remains united behind Tinubu’s leadership for sustainable development in Nigeria.

He urged party members nationwide to close ranks and work collectively towards ensuring victory for the APC in the 2027 presidential election, stressing that unity, inclusiveness and consensus-building remained critical to the landslide victory of the party.

Governor Diri further reaffirmed Bayelsa State’s support for President Tinubu’s re-election for second-term, emphasizing that party stakeholders and leaders in the state are gallantly committed to mobilizing support for the President across the South-South.

He added that the APC in Bayelsa had continued to witness growing acceptance and political strength under the leadership of committed party leaders, stakeholders and members, which was witnessed in the concluded party primaries at all level.

Congratulating President Tinubu on behalf of the government and people of Bayelsa State, Diri wished Tinubu landslide victory as the APC continue to emerge stronger, formidable and united towards the general elections.
