He’s A Brother, Colleague In Nat. Service – Dickson To Moses

The Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has commiserated with the people of Trofani community, Sagbama LGA and the senatorial district over the death of their illustrious son, Late DIG Moses Jitoboh.

Hot News reports that the funeral of the departed, was attended by traditional leaders, political leaders, top security officers, elders, women and youths to bid farewell to late DIG Moses Jitoboh, and commiserate with members of his immediate and extended family and the community.

Dickson who was accompanied by stakeholders, elders, women and youths from the senatorial district to attend the funeral of Late DIG Moses Jitoboh, described him as a dependable younger brother, friend and colleague in the Nigeria Police Force, and national service.

The federal lawmaker while narrating his first encounter with the deceased, said they met in a public transit while journeying to Kano where both were attending the Nigeria Police Force Academy in 1994, respectively.

He said in his usual way of inquisitiveness, he asked about the origin of Moses, and he said he was from Trofani community in Sagbama local government area, pointing out that Moses was very tall, and he is one of the few persons who can claim to be taller than him jokingly.

Dickson said unknown to most persons, DIG Moses Jitoboh comes from an illustrious family of police service, adding that most of Moses older sisters were police officers who made tremendous contributions and selfless services to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation at large.

Narrating how the deceased became Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha of blessed memory, he said plants and flowers are not the only things people should plant, but people should also plant human beings when they are opportune to be in a leadership position basically.

The former state helmsman added that former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan took late DIG Moses Jitoboh as ADC when he became Acting Governor of Bayelsa State as at then, and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He added that due to the effective and diligent services of late DIG Moses Jitoboh, Jonathan as then President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, created the office of the Chief Security Officer to the President in the presidential villa in order to accommodate the departed.

While commending the tremendous services of the deceased, Dickson described him as a gallant police officer who was loyal, committed and dedicated to the course of his profession, nation-building, and projecting the ideals of the Ijaw nation for the interest of the people.

He reiterated his continuous support to the family of the deceased, stating that he will continue to be a father to the children of the departed whom he described as a dependable younger brother, friend, colleague in national service to humanity and society.

While thanking everyone for finding time to attend the funeral of an illustrious citizen of Nigeria, Dickson specifically thanked former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Governor Douye Diri for their support to the family, and presence to bid farewell to the deceased to honor him.

The nationalist who is also known as the Ofuruma-Pepe prayed to God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss, adding that may the soul of the departed rest in the bosom of the Lord peacefully.

To mention few dignitaries who accompanied the former state helmsman to bid farewell to his friend and brother are: High Chief Victor Okpodudu, Chief Alade Agua, Chief Michael Magbisa, Hon. (Mrs) Alice Tangi Allen, Hon. Tobi Ebikidimie, Hon. Richman Endakwe.

Others are: Hon. Victor Eniekenimi, Hon. Aladei Godsave, Hon. Godbless Oyinke, Hon. Benjamin Youdiowei, Mr Preye Okoriye, others. May the gentle soul of the deceased rest in the bosom of the Lord. May God Almighty give the family the fortitude to bear the great loss.
