Interior Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Commission Federal Fire Service Station, Modern Motor Park In Bayelsa West

The Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, during his visit to Bayelsa State on Thursday, 27th June 2024, commissioned a Federal Fire Service Station at Toru-Orua Community, and a Modern Motor Park at Ekeremor Community all in Bayelsa West Senatorial District.

‘The Federal Fire Service Station Project was established primarily to address and tackle life-threatening fire outbreaks in the senatorial district, as a result of various devastating fire outbreaks that has destroyed lives and properties in the senatorial district over the years.

‘The Modern Motor Park Project was conceived and established with the sole aim of providing a safer central location for the ease use of motorists and commuters traveling to different communities in the senatorial district and beyond.

The people-oriented two remarkable projects commissioned for public use, was initiated and completed by the Senator representing the senatorial district, His Excellency, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, as constituency projects.

The projects were commissioned by the honorable minister in company of the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, and other Senior officers, who flew from Abuja to Bayelsa in honor of the federal lawmaker, Senator Dickson.

In his remarks, Senator Dickson thanked the honorable minister, leadership of the federal fire service, chairmen of Sagbama and Ekeremor LGAs, including traditional rulers, stakeholders, elders, women and youths that attended the occasion.

He also thanked the Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri for sending a representative, Professor Nimibofa Ayawei, Secretary to the State Government, adding that the governor was well represented.

While commending the communities where the projects are located and contractors of the projects, Senator Dickson stated that there are many more such constituency projects ongoing in other communities in the senatorial district, that will be put to public use in the nearest future.

Senator Dickson urged the leadership of the communities to consciously protect and maintain the projects, and other government facilities to serve the desired purpose to the people of the senatorial district and beyond.
