Misinterpretation Of Governor Douye Diri’s Counsel For Political Gains By Political Jobbers

Bayelsa State has experienced an unprecedented political system in recent time, where political leaders regardless of party affiliation work closely and collaboratively for the peace, unity, stability, growth and development of the state basically.

The Prosperity Government under the focused and purposeful leadership of Senator Douye Diri, has ushered in an advanced approach of politics, leadership and governance, as a purposeful leader whose focus is the peace, unity, stability and development of the state.

It’s an unarguable fact that this is the first time in the political history of the state, where the seating governor of the ruling party work hand in hand and collaboratively with opposition party members at various levels for the peace, growth and development of the state.

Senator Douye Diri after assumption in office, having full knowledge and understanding of the great need for teamwork in maintaining the peace, stability, growth and development of the state, introduced an all-inclusive leadership and governance in the state impressively.

It’s on record that this is the first time in the political history of the state, where opposition party members are appointed as state executive council members of the state government, looking beyond party affiliation, but the growth, development of the state.

For the very first time in the state, opposition party executives, top government functionaries travelled from far and near to witness the swearing-in of the Governor, Senator Douye Diri and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo on the 14th of February, 2024, respectively.

The second tenure swearing-in of the governor and his deputy was an unprecedented political experience in the state, as the event was attended by top opposition party government functionaries, which was widely commended by the populace, mostly on the social media.

The governor has always maintained all-inclusive leadership, governance of the state, by primarily focusing on the unity, peace, stability, growth and development of the state, as the utmost priority as one people.

Senator Douye Diri has maintained good working relationship with top federal government appointees, including Dr. Samuel Ogbuku since his appointment and reappointment as Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission.

Senator Douye Diri who has enjoyed massive support from the federal government due to his peaceful and all-inclusive approach of leadership and governance of the state, has been commended and applauded by President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, on several occasions.

The state helmsman who does not play politics with the development of the state, congratulated all sons and daughters from the state appointed to serve under the APC led federal government, and further extended commendations to President Bola Tinubu.

Senator Douye Diri’s impressive style and approach of leadership of the state, has always demonstrated and reflected peaceful collaboration and cooperation amongst leaders towards the growth and development of the state, irrespective of political party affiliation.

Misinterpretation Of Senator Douye Diri’s Statement (Wise Counsel)

Senator Diri who have maintained good working relationship with Dr. Samuel Ogbuku since appointment as Managing Director of the NDDC, gave an harmless advise to him and his team during a courtesy visit in Government House house, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The state helmsman in the spirit of solidarity towards the development of the state, gave a sound counsel to the management of the commission to work closely and collaboratively with the state government in projects and programs in the state basically.

NDDC as an intervention agency, the management is expected to work closely and collaboratively with the state governments in the region, by informing the state governments of projects of the commission in their respective states as expected.

The statement was made as a wise counsel and guidance to a younger brother whose success in office, will be a plus to the people, the state and the Niger Delta region at large.

The Prosperity Government led by Senator Diri, as a purposeful and the people-oriented government that has made tremendous improvements in infrastructure, security, sports, education, healthcare, human capital development, is obviously not in for any competition with any agency or institution.

Senator Douye Diri who has made tremendous efforts, contributions and improvements in major sectors in the state geared towards improving the welfare of the people of the state, is neither interested in any unnecessary and unhealthy competition with any individual.

Obviously, the governor’s statement is misinterpreted for future political purposes, most especially by those in the contending opposition party (APC) that are still aggrieved with the outcome of the 2023 November 11th gubernatorial election in the state.

Those in the opposition deliberately creating disagreement and disunity between the two leaders for future political reasons, should understand that the peace and development of the state is beyond anyone’s political aspirations and ambitions basically.

They should understand that there is time for politics, and there is time for governance, as the time of politics has come to an end, and it’s time for governance of the state, ably led by our peaceful and people-oriented Governor, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri.

The NDDC MD, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku should understand that those who are misinterpreting the governor’s statement to create disunity between them, are only pretentiously doing so to impress him for personal gains, and not for his personal interest and benefit obviously.

As an opportunist handling a rare sensitive public office with future political aspirations, he should apply wisdom and knowledge as regards to the trending misconception of the governor’s statement by those who can be best described as political jobbers for self-centered reasons.

Obviously, Senator Douye Diri is not in competition with any individual or agency for whatever reasons. He is only interested in the peace and development of the state, by working closely and collaboratively with all interested parties in the state.

The peace, unity, stability, growth and development of the state is the mantra of the Prosperity Government led by Senator Douye Diri.
