Tinubu Newly Commissioned New Yenagoa City–LNG Road

The recently commissioned New Yenagoa City–LNG Junction Dual Carriageway Road Project, stands as another remarkable testament to the infrastructural vision of the Prosperity Administration led by Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State.

The strategically designed project has significantly enhanced connectivity, eased traffic movement, and opened up greater opportunities for urban-rural transportation system, including economic growth and development within the state capital and environs.

Hotnews gathered that the landmark project was among four major infrastructure development projects commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his official visit to Bayelsa State on April 10, 2026.

Other projects inaugurated included the 60MW Independent Power Plant at Elebele, the Angiama-Oporoma Bridge, and the Sagbama-Ekeremor Road project. These projects reflects the administration’s commitment to transforming the state’s infrastructure.

The dual carriageway is expected to serve as a vital alternative route of entry and exit to the state capital to improve the transportation network, and support the development of the emerging New Yenagoa City.

The road successful completion and commissioning further underscore Governor Douye Diri’s determination to deliver sustainable infrastructure that will positively impact the lives of Bayelsans, and leave a lasting legacy of development across the state.
