Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Tuesday received the winner of Miss World Nigeria 2026, Miss Tamunosoye Karibi-George, at Government House, Yenagoa, describing her emergence as a moment of pride for Bayelsa State, the Ijaw nation, and Nigeria at large.

Hotnews reports that Governor Diri congratulated the Bayelsa-born beauty queen on her remarkable achievement, and commended the organizers of the Miss World Nigeria pageant for conducting a transplant and credible competition that produced a worthy winner.

The Governor praised Tamunosoye’s intelligence, confidence, and advocacy, noting that her success reflected the talents and potentials of young Bayelsans on the national stage.
