PAP: Maj-General Ndiomu Paid Courtesy Visit To Sen. Lokpobiri

The Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Maj-General Barry Ndiomu (Retd), paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of State For Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri at his office in Abuja.

The courtesy visit of the interim administrator to the honourable minister, was basically to discuss the way forward of the presidential amnesty programme, including pertinent issues affecting the development of the Niger Delta.

Maj-General Ndiomu in his remarks, commended the honourable minister, Sen. Lokpobiri for his strategic bold steps towards proffering solutions to issues in the oil sector with the primary objective of improving the country’s economy and Nigerians.

“I am a team player which I have consistently engaged ex-agitators, traditional leaders, political leaders and youth leaders across the Niger Delta and beyond, as to collectively proffer solutions to challenges facing the people of the region,” he added.

Maj-General Ndiomu appreciated Sen. Lokpobiri for his warm reception and hospitality, stating the great need for leaders and stakeholders in the Niger Delta region to collaboratively work with each other towards improving the welfare of the people of the region.

“There is total peace in the Niger Delta in recent times as a result of the effective management of the presidential amnesty programme, working closely with traditional leaders and critical stakeholders of the region, as a major oil-producing area in the country,” he added.

Maj-General Ndiomu while stating the peaceful state of the Niger Delta since his assumption in office, stressed the great need and importance for both leaders to work collectively in strengthening the peace of the region as a major oil-producing area.

The Honourable Minister, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri in his remarks, appreciated the interim administrator for the courtesy visit to discuss pertinent issues affecting the Niger Delta region, and proffer solutions for the betterment of the people of the region and the nation at large.

While condemning the actions of oil facilities vandalization and crude oil theft, Sen. Lokpobiri stated his readiness to collaboratively work with the amnesty boss and critical stakeholders in proffering lasting solutions to the challenges facing the region and beyond basically.

Sen. Lokpobiri while commending Maj-General Ndiomu for the effective management of the programme, urged the amnesty boss to continue his support for federal government’s initiatives aimed at creating a conducive environment for investors and improving the nation’s economy.

“I call on all critical stakeholders in the Niger Delta region and beyond to continue to support and work closely with the interim administrator and the federal government in proffering lasting solutions towards the development of the region,” he added.
