Senator Dickson Led High-Powered Delegation To Commiserates With Former President Dr. Jonathan GCFR

The Former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, His Excellency, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, led a high-powered delegation to commiserate with Former President, His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan over the death of his elder sister, Madam Obebhatein Jonathan.

The Former Governor and Senator made this known through his official facebook handle, described the deceased as a very nice woman who was an aunty to him and others.

The high-powered delegation led by Senator Dickson, comprises of leaders, stakeholders, elders, women leaders, youth leaders from Bayelsa west senatorial district and friends of the Senator across the state that paid the condolence visit to the home of the former President, Dr. Jonathan.

Senator Dickson while describing the former President, Dr. Jonathan as a leader and father, stressed the great need and importance to condole with him and his family over the loss of his elder sister, Madam Obebhatein Jonathan who was a mother to all.

While thanking the former President Dr. Jonathan and others for managing the departed soul who was fondly called Mama the Mama, Senator Dickson prayed to God to grant the departed soul eternal rest, and the entire family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Senator Dickson in the spirit of oneness and respect for the former President, nominated two leaders from his senatorial district to be part of the burial planning committee, adding that himself and his team will also attend all the programmes of the burial as his last respect to the deceased.

The statement reads: “This evening, I led a high powered delegation of Bayelsa West, leaders, elders, Youth leaders, Women leaders and friends across the State to visit the home of our leader and Father, the Former President of Nigeria, His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR to traditionally condole him over the loss of his Sister, Madam Obebhatein Jonathan, fondly called Miss.

“Miss was a very nice Aunty of mine and others. As I stated, he is our father and our leader and we are part of his household any day and for good or bad he will have me and all of us by his side. We have tried severally to plan this visit but because of his tight schedules it wasn’t possible till now. Today we felt we should condole him the traditional way.

“We pray God to give him the fortitude to bear the loss. I thanked him and others for managing our mother fondly called Mama the Mama. I prayed God to grant her and the entire family the fortitude to bear the loss.

“I thereafter nominated two persons from Bayelsa West to be part of the burial planning committee. We will also attend all the programmes of the burial.

“I pray God to grant her soul eternal rest.
