Sagbama APC Ward 10 Welcome Decampees, Declares Support 4 Diri
The leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward Ten (10) under Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, has declared their total support for the Governor, Senator Douye Diri, as he assume leadership of the party.
The ward leadership, stakeholders and members of the APC made the declaration of their total support for the Governor as the leader of party in the state, during a party ward unity meeting to formally and officially welcome the defectors to the party.
Hot News gathered the APC unity meeting to formally welcome the decampees to the party in the ward, held on Monday, 17th November, 2025, at Sagbama Town Hall, had in attendance of political leaders and stakeholders from the ward level.
The party ward chairman, Comrade George Zifaye, in opening remarks, expressed profound gratitude to everyone in attendance, both old and new members for attending the ward stakeholders and members unity meeting to chart the way forward.
Formally and officially welcoming the new members to the party, the ward chairman assured the defectors of the party ward executives and leadership unwavering cooperation and dedication to work collectively towards the progress of the party.
A new party member in solidarity message, Hon. David Nanakumo, thanked the APC ward leadership, leaders, stakeholders and members for the warm reception accorded to him and other new members to the party as one indivisible people.
According to the new party member, the era of fighting one another during electioneering processes has come to an end, and whenever a directive is given by the party leadership in the state, every member will adhere unanimously in harmony and unity.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Hospitality and Entertainment, High Chief Sinkumo Ekisah, said the primary objective and responsibility of party members, is the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 presidential election.
He thanked Almighty God for making the official defection to the APC a reality, saying he had defected to the APC long time ago, and the recent open defection was only a formality – as no one would want to remain somewhere he or she will be pathetically suffocated by anybody.
The special adviser said those who have decided to remain wherever they are, should continue, but APC members will only vote for party candidates, ranging from the state assembly to the national assembly offices, including the presidential.
Commending old party members for their steadfastness and commitment in building and strengthening the party till date even as an opposition, High Chief Ekisah thanked the ward chairman and his executives, most especially the state deputy chairman for the warm reception accorded.
In their separate remarks, High Chief A.K Ebiowei and Hon. Okubokakpo Umbu, thanked the State APC Deputy Chairman, Barr. Francis Kolokolo for his commitment and dedication in building and strengthening the APC mostly at the ward level and beyond.
They assured the ward leadership, stakeholders and members of the party to work collectively in peace and unity towards the growth and progress of the party in the ward.
In his remarks, the State APC Deputy Chairman, Barr. Francis Kolokolo, welcoming the new members (decampees) ably led by High Chief Sinkumo Ekisah to the party, said there was only differential interests, adding the whole Sagbama community are brothers and sisters.
According to the deputy chairman, he is overwhelmed with the defection of the new members to the APC, saying it is a great welcome development – as it has been a clash of interests on self-beneficial grounds during every electioneering process in the community since 2015 elections.
Kolokolo assured the decampees of mutual respect and benefit from the party and its leadership, regardless of the time they are joining the party.
“APC now as the ruling party at the centre and the state, winning state and national assembly elections would be hundred percent in the 2027 general elections,” he added.
The APC state deputy chairman said the Governor, Senator Douye Diri’s defection to the party is a strategic step to align to the centre and the national politics to attract more projects and other deserving benefits for the sole interest of the state.
In accordance with political parties constitution of recognizing a seating Governor as the leader of the party in the respective state, Kolokolo moved a motion to acknowledge and affirm the Governor, Senator Douye Diri as the leader of APC in Bayelsa state.
He thanked the ward chairman and his executives for organizing the unity meeting to formally receive the decampees to the APC, adding the meeting is a unification of the people of Sagbama Federated community.
“The 2027 general elections, any party candidate the governor direct us to support, we will all queue behind the governor, and work collectively for the landslide victory of the candidate,” Kolokolo added.
Party stakeholders in attendance were Hon. Abeke Jonah, Sagbama APC Chairman, High Chief Martins Gbaregolo, Hon. Orusegha Enebraye Ph.D, Capt. Endeley Peter, Hon. Collins Robert, Elder Ayagbebe Emmanuel, Hon. Ogba Ezon-Ebi.
Others are Hon. Vivian Adesi, Barr. Tonye Boss, Elder Barron Agbogidi, Mr Ezuwei Arepuamo, Mr Ebikapade Dibiya, Mr Sunday Aaron, Mr Ebidouwei Amboro, including several others.
