See What Gov. Diri Just Did In Bayelsa State Towards 2023
The Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri has signed the 2023 budget of N385.21 billion naira into law at the Bayelsa State Government House Yenagoa.
Recall that Governor Douye Diri presented a budget of N385.21 billion naira, tagged as a Budget of Sustainable Growth and Reconstruction to the Bayelsa State House of Assembly for approval in November, 2022.
The N385.21 billion naira budget is targeted on the following sectors listed below:
Out of the figure, a sum of N167, 545,670,784 representing 43.40 percent of the total estimate has been proposed for capital projects across various ministries and agencies.
The budget is christened,” Budget of Sustainable Growth and Reconstruction.”
The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure got #77.924 billion, Education got #40.458 billion while Agriculture got #14. 199 billion.
Top government functionaries and members of the state house of assembly were fully in attendance to give their consent to the signing of the budget into law by the governor.
The governor also signed the bill of contributory pension scheme into law. The budget is targeted at creating empowerment programmes, completing ongoing projects, and economic investments in the state.
