Senator Dickson Led High-Powered Delegation On Courtesy Call To Gov. Fubara
The Former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, His Excellency, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, led a high-powered delegation on a courtesy call to the Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Siminalayi Fubara in Government House, Port-harcourt.
The former Governor and Senator made this known through his official facebook handle, expressed profound gratitude to the Rivers State Government for the warm reception of the delegation of traditional leaders, elders and leaders from Bayelsa State on the courtesy call.
Senator Dickson while commending the Rivers State Governor for initiating moves with the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri in normalizing relations between the two States, as well as other issues, stated that Rivers and Bayelsa are one indivisible brother States.
Rivers State being the parent State that gave birth to Bayelsa, Senator Dickson stated that every Bayelsan is concerned and interested in what happens in Rivers State, and indeed has a stake, as inter-related States.
He stressed the great need for the people of Rivers State especially their leaders, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Excellency, Nyesom Wike, CON, and the Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Siminalayi Fubara to resolve all their issues amicably.
Senator Dickson urged Rivers State leaders to rally round and support the Governor to succeed in office, and also intervene to ensure that there is no further escalation of the political tension in recent times in the State.
He used the medium to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his intervention of the political tension in the State, and all leaders who have tried to intervene in proffering lasting solutions to the political tension in the State, stressing that they should continue to do so and not relent.
The statement reads: “Today I led a high-powered delegation of their Majesties, Highnesses, and other leaders from Bayelsa State on a courtesy call on the Governor of Rivers State, my brother His Excellency, Siminalayi Fubara.
“I thank the Government of Rivers State for the reception accorded our delegation. I thank the Bayelsa elders and leaders who were in the delegation
“Rivers State and Bayelsa are one. I commended the Governor for initiating moves with the Governor of Bayelsa, His Excellency Douye Diri to normalise relations between our States as well as other issues.
“I urged Rivers State leaders to rally round and come together and support the Governor to succeed and also intervene to ensure there is no further escalation of the political tension in the State.
“I made the case that Rivers State being our parent State gave birth to Bayelsa. Every Bayelsan is interested in what happens in Rivers State and indeed has a stake and it is our desire that the people of Rivers State especially their leaders, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, His Excellency Nyesom Wike, CON, and the Governor, His Excellency, Fubara, should amicably resolve all their issues.
“We thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his intervention and we thank all leaders who have tried to intervene and urge them to continue and not to get tired.
