Senator Dickson Led High-Powered Delegation To Attend Ayakoro Festival

The Former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, His Excellency, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, led a high-powered delegation to attend the 66th festival ceremony of Ayakoro Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The Former Governor and Senator made this known through his official facebook handle, stated that Ayakoro community is one of the Tarakiri communities in Ogbia local government area of the state.

The federal lawmaker who was accompanied by high-profile traditional leaders, high chiefs, political leaders, women and youth leaders from the senatorial district and across the state, were given a warm reception and hospitality by community leaders especially the NDDC MD, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.

Senator Dickson who was invited as chairman of the 66th anniversary of Ayakoro community’s festival, described the invitation as a great privilege to chair the festival occasion with the pleasure of seeing some high-profile traditional leaders of the Tarakiri clan specifically.

While thanking traditional leaders, women and youth leaders of Ayakoro community for the invitation to celebrate culture, tradition and history, Senator Dickson appreciated the NDDC MD, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku for the developmental strides in the community, the state and the Niger Delta.

Senator Dickson while thanking the NDDC MD, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku for showing positive impacts on people’s lives in the community, called for State Governments especially Bayelsa State to collaborate with the NDDC in improving the well-being of the people of the region basically.

For the installation of solar lights in Toru-Orua community and other communities in the senatorial district, Senator Dickson stressed the great need for the state government to work with the NDDC MD in attracting more developmental projects to the people importantly.

Senator Dickson urged traditional leaders, political leaders, stakeholders, elders women and youth leaders of the community to support and pray for the NDDC MD to continuously work for peace as only a peaceful community can enjoy development most importantly.

The statement reads: “Yesterday, I led a high-powered delegation made up of several traditional rulers, high chiefs across Bayelsa West, other political leaders, Women and Youth leaders, and some even from across the state when I visited Ayakoro community one of the Tarakiri communities in Ogbia Local Government. The Paramount ruler and the Chiefs invited me to chair the 66th anniversary of their festival. I was there and it was a pleasure to have seen His Royal Majesty King Seiyefa Koroye, Pere of Tarakiri Clan and my elder brother as well as several high chiefs of Tarakiri Clan of which I am one and several women who graced the occasion.

“In my remarks, I thanked them for the honour of inviting me and I share with them their passion of celebrating culture, tradition and history. I thanked them for the prevailing peace, I appreciated Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, NDDC MD for the developmental strides in their community prevailing peace and some of the development going on in some other Communities in the State and across the Niger Delta.

“I call for collaboration between the NDDC and the state governments especially that of Bayelsa State to collaborate on major projects that will change the lives of our people. I thank the MD for showing impact which we have seen in his Community and in some other places, I also thanked him for the solar intervention in my community and other Communities in Bayelsa West and urge him to do more to collaborate with the government of the state and other stakeholders across the state. I urge the people to support and pray for him to work for peace as only a peaceful community can enjoy development.
