Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has visited the family of an Ijaw Icon and Pan Niger Delta Forum Leader, Late Chief Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark to commiserate with the family.

The national lawmaker made this known through his official facebook handle, described the late Ijaw Icon and leader, Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark as an iconic father of fathers, and leader of leaders who taught people many lessons.

Senator Dickson said the deceased lived a great life in service to the Ijaw people, the country and humanity at large, adding that he has gone to rest in the bosom of his creator after living a fulfilled life on planet earth.

He added despite the fact that he lived to a unique and uncommon age of ninety seven (97) years, his faculty (memory) was still intact to the very end of his last day on planet earth.

The former Bayelsa state helmsman thanked the children and family members, including those who played a role in taking care and supporting him while he lived.

The statement read in parts: “This morning I visited the family of Pa Clark to commiserate with them and also to meet with them and others to plan our response on the sudden passing of Papa.

“He lived a great life and has gone to rest in the bosom of his creator after a full life lived in the service of our people, country and humanity.

“At his passing, we have lost an iconic father of fathers and leader of leaders who taught us many lessons.

“Despite the fact that he lived to a unique and uncommon age of ninety seven (97) years with his faculty intact to the very end, he will surely still be missed for what he represented to our people and to all Nigerians.

“A mighty Iroko has fallen and this has left a huge vacuum that will be difficult to fill.

“As we mourn his passing, let us also get ready to celebrate the great life he lived as well as learn from his life, the lessons of service with dignity, courage and selflessness.

“I thank the children, the family members and all those who played a role in taking care and supporting him while he lived. We are all his children and prepared to do the needful as we celebrate his passing.
