Senator Shettima & Senator Remi Attended Senate Valedictory Session
Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima and First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Remi Tinubu, attended the valedictory session of the ninth Senate.
Senator Kashim Shettima represents Borno Central Senatorial District, while Senator Remi Tinubu represents Lagos Central Senatorial District in the outgoing ninth Senate.
Senator Kashim Shettima was elected into the Senate for the first time in 2019, after his tenure as Borno State Governor, while Senator Remi Tinubu is a three-term senator in the national assembly (Senate).
This is the first time the duo attended the upper legislative chamber session since Bola Tinubu assumed office as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 29th May, which is the same day Senator Shettima and Senator Remi assumed their new roles.
The outgoing Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, presented certificates to his colleagues.
The ninth Senate was inaugurated on 11 June, 2019 for a four-year tenure.
