2023 Presidential Election: Diri Abandons Atiku, Perfect Plans To Work For Tinubu’s Victory

There is an information making the rounds that Governor Douye Diri has promised to work for the victory of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming presidential election slated to hold on the 25th of February, 2023.

A reliable source revealed that the Bayelsa State Governor met with the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu outside the Country, where the governor promised to work for his victory in the forthcoming presidential election with financial resources and otherwise.

The source stated that the governor negotiated on the basis that when the APC Presidential Candidate wins the presidential election, and emerge the President of the Federal Republic, he should give him the necessary support to ensure his reelection as Governor of Bayelsa State.

According to the source, the meeting which lasted for hours discussed a lot of political issues about Bayelsa and the Country at large, adding that the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu was yet to agree to the condition of Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State.

Hotnews gathered that the governor’s plan to work for the APC presidential candidate, is because of the prolonged internal crises rocking the People’s Democratic Party at the national level between the party’s Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the G-5 Governors.

Recall that the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the G-5 Governors led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has not been in good terms since after the party presidential primary election, which led to the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the Party Presidential Candidate.

The PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State will be so disappointed with the decision of Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, considering the role he played in the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the party flag-bearer of the 2023 presidential election.

However, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State seems to have made up his mind on the decision to work for the victory of the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu, in order to secure his reelection as Governor of Bayelsa State, which is slated to hold on the 11th of November, 2023.

Governor Douye Diri personally or through the commissioner for information or chief press secretary was yet to respond to the rumour while making this report.
