Constituents Commends Dickson’s Developmental Projects, Reiterates Unwavering Support
The Gallant Ladies of Bayelsa West (GLBW), has commended Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, His Excellency, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson for the various developmental projects.
In a statement issued by the group Coordinator, Mrs Bridget Patrick, stated that the commendation became necessary and pertinent as a result of the federal lawmaker’s numerous socio-economic projects in the senatorial district and state.
The Gallant Ladies of Bayelsa West is socio-political organization that is comprised of women leaders from the wards in the senatorial district, is strategically established to make meaningful inputs and contributions in humanity and society basically.
The group reiterated that the district was in great need of basic social amenities despite being opportune to handle the number two and three offices in the state, including other sensitive state and national elective/appointive offices without attracting any development to the district.
“Bayelsa West was lacking behind in terms of infrastructural development in the state, before the emergence of Senator Henry Seriake Dickson as Governor of Bayelsa State, and he consciously and deliberately transformed the senatorial district by establishing various social and economic developmental projects.
The group while acknowledging Senator Dickson’s people-oriented infrastructural projects, human capital development, noted that he has attracted numerous socio-economic developmental projects to the senatorial district to improve the constituents welfare.
The Sagbama-Ekeremor road is one major developmental project of the Senator Dickson’s administration, as a project that has addressed major challenges of the people, improved socio-economic activities in the senatorial district, linking the rural communities to the state capital.
The road project was economically, socially and politically conceived to address the yearning of the people of a motorable road to enable rural dwellers transport their agricultural produce, and commuters traveling to the rural communities and urban areas for work and other activities.
The Ebedebiri Cassava Processing Factory is another major economic project conceived by the Senator Dickson’s administration specifically to address the issue of processing cassava in commercial quantities, as cassava farming is the one major occupation of the people basically.
Establishment of various tertiary institutions in the senatorial district, as a way of attracting quality tertiary education to applicants and residents intending to further their education in tertiary institutions, and to further create job opportunities for skilled and unskilled labour basically.
Mrs Patrick further commended the Ofuruma-Pepe for the recently commissioned Fire Service Station at Toru-Orua and Modern Motor Park at Ekeremor aimed to address challenges of fire outbreak, with a central motor park for commuters and motorists to ease traveling.
She prayed to God Almighty to continue to guide, protect the federal lawmaker in attracting more social and economic developmental projects to the senatorial district to continuously improve the people’s welfare, as a passionate leader.
The group reiterated unwavering support for the former Governor and Senator in future endeavors, as a leader who have made deliberate enormous efforts and contributions in improving the people’s welfare in different ramifications over the years.
