Diri Attends Deputy Speaker 88-Year-Old Mother’s Burial

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has attended the burial ceremony of late Madam Nanakumo Korobou Wanzor, mother of the Deputy Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Michael Ogbere.

Hotnews gathered that the 88-year-old deceased was buried at Egbema-Angalabiri Community in Ekeremor Local Government Area, where the governor joined family members, community leaders and other dignitaries to honour her memory.

Governor Diri expressed condolences to the bereaved family and the people of the community, describing Madam Wanzor as a woman who lived a fulfilled life and raised her children well, including the Deputy Speaker, whom he described as the number four citizen of the state.

The Governor also assured the people of Egbema-Angalabiri of his administration’s continued commitment to their development and welfare.

He disclosed that the state government had approved the construction of the Toru-Ebeni–Egbema-Angalabiri road, urging the people to remain united and live in peace to attract more development to the community.

Among the dignitaries at the ceremony were Deputy Governor Dr. Peter Akpe, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday Obolo-Bubou, lawmakers, Secretary to the State Government Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, Bayelsa APC Chairman Hon. Warman Ogoriba, Ekeremor LGA Chairman Hon. Onniye Isaac, 2027 APC Bayelsa West senatorial candidate Elder Fidelis Agbiki and other government officials.
