Diri Reiterates Commitment To Peace, Security At NSCDC Project Commissioning
Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has reiterated the prosperity administration unwavering commitment to supporting security agencies in the state to ensure sustained peace, safety, and stability.
Hotnews reports that the Governor gave the assurance on Thursday during the commissioning of newly completed projects at the headquarters of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps in Yenagoa.
The projects include a Quarter Guard, Photo Stand, activation of a Sick Bay, and groundbreaking ceremony for an Officers’ Mess, all in the state capital.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Peter Akpe, Senator Diri emphasized that his administration would continue to prioritize investment in the security sector and strengthen collaboration among security agencies operating in the state.
He commended the NSCDC leadership and personnel for their dedication to safeguarding lives, critical assets, and public infrastructure across Bayelsa.
According to the Governor, the newly commissioned facilities reflect the command’s commitment to personnel welfare, operational readiness, institutional growth, and improved service delivery to citizens and residents.
On his remarks, the Bayelsa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Matthew Palmer, described the projects as a significant milestone for the command for better and improved security service delivery in the state.
He noted that the facilities were designed to enhance operational efficiency, boost staff morale, and improve the welfare of the officers.
Mr Palmer attributed the successful execution of the projects to the vision of the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Professor Abubakar Audi, and the support provided by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
In goodwill messages, the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, CP Daniel Iyamah, representatives of the Nigerian Air Force, and senior NSCDC officials, lauded the state command for undertaking projects that would strengthen security operations and personnel welfare in the state.
Major highlights of the event was the commissioning of the Quarter Guard and Photo Stand, activation of the Sick Bay, and the groundbreaking ceremony for the Officers’ Mess, reiterating the NSCDC’s commitment to effective service delivery in Bayelsa State.
