Flood: Ex-Governor Dickson Friends Donates N11m To Seriake Dickson Foundation To Support Flood Victims In Bayelsa
Friends of the Former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Henry Seriake Dickson, has donated the sum of Eleven Million Naira (11,000,000.00) to Seriake Dickson Foundation to support people who are affected by the ravaging flood in various Local Government Areas across Bayelsa State.
Recall that the former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West through his foundation, Henry Seriake Dickson Foundation donated the sum of Four Hundred Thousand Naira to every Ward In Bayelsa West, and additional Five Million Naira to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Yenagoa the State Capital.
Dickson in a statement sent to newsmen of hotnews, and it reads in parts:
“The voluntary donations of my friends to my foundation, Henry Seriake Dickson Foundation is approaching the sum of Fifteen Million Naira (15,000,000.00) to further support our people who are greatly affected by the ravaging flood.
“Following the announcement of my donation to flood victims through my foundation, some of my friends out of their generosity called to make donations amounting to the sum of eleven million naira, which a number of them prefer to be anonymous.
Dickson while appreciating the generous voluntary donations of his friends, stated categorically that the foundation will do a letter to express his profound gratitude to the donors, and that of his people, adding that the donations are not in cash alone but, also in kind.
Dickson used the medium to appeal to private individuals, state and federal government organizations including international organizations to come to the aid of the displaced persons by the ravaging flood in various Local Government Areas across Bayelsa State.
Dickson further stated that the policy framework and standard of the foundation will be carried out by publishing a list of all the donors as well as the beneficiaries for the purpose of transparency and accountability, which is the trade of the foundation since inception.
