Mass Defection To NDC, As PDP, APC Members Resigns
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), as a fresh platform for true federalism, has continued to gather momentum, as members of various political parties massively defects to the party in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Hotnews gathered that the defectors comprised of stakeholders, and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Labour Party (LP) and other political parties.
The event held on Wednesday, 11, March, 2026, at Ekeremor town, had in attendance of NDC state, and local government executives to receive thousands of defectors to the party.
The decampees stated that their official defection to the NDC, was borne out of strong conviction of the party’s ideals and vision of true federalism in service to the people of Ijaw nation, Niger Delta, and all Nigerians in improved democracy.
Bayelsa State NDC Chairman, Hon. Ikuromo Dauprebo, who received the defectors, expressed delight over the increasing number of decampees to the party in a short while, saying it reflects total acceptance of the party from the people–as the new bride.
According to the state chairman, the massive defection of members from various political parties to the NDC barely three weeks, is just the beginning as there will be more massive defections soon due to the people acceptance of the party.
He commended the decampees for taking the bold step to join the NDC, and assured them of the party’s vision, and unwavering commitment to building a party that will conquer opposition parties in the elections.
The NDC leaders and members used the medium to express profound gratitude to the founder and national leader of the party, former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson for his vision, sound representation.
To mention few party executives who were in attendance to receive the defectors are; Hon. Tesufa Alex Dumbo, State Secretary, Hon. Suru Oyarede, Hon. Mark Ayoro, including Comrade Ebide Brown, Chairman, Ekeremor LGA, Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe, Youth Leader, Ekeremor LGA.
