Senator Dickson Joined Senate President’s Delegation To Receive Germany Ambassador
The Former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, His Excellency, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, was part of the delegation of the Senate President to receive the Ambassador of Germany to Nigeria, Ambassador Annette Gunther.
The former governor and senator made this known through his official facebook handle, described the ambassador’s visit to the country as a great step in the right direction towards building a good relationship between the two countries.
Ambassador Annette Gunther’s visit primarily was to familiarize with the Nigerian Government to discuss issues affecting the country, and take possible steps towards proffering solutions to the issues between the two countries collaboratively.
The ambassador while exchanging pleasantries with the delegation of the Nigerian Government, expressed the willingness of the German Government to collaborate with Nigeria on a number of issues, including climate change specifically.
Senator Dickson as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on climate change, expressed the committee’s readiness to work closely with the ambassador towards tackling climate change challenges, and other environmental issues.
The statement reads: “I was on the delegation of the Senate President to receive the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Nigeria, Ambassador Annett Gunther, to discuss issues affecting Nigeria and the relationship between the two countries.
“The Ambassador expressed the willingness of the German Government to collaborate with Nigeria on a number of issues including issues of climate change which fall under my jurisdiction and we hope to follow it up.
