Sagbama APC Chairman Calls For Removal Of Ndiomu, As Interim Administrator Of The Presidential Amnesty Programme
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Hon. Abeke Tariladei Jonah has called for the termination of the appointment of Maj-General Barry Tariye Ndiomu (Rtd), as the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
The call was made known through a press statement signed by the chairman in Yenagoa, the state capital on Wednesday.
According to the APC Chairman, the party in the state is demanding for the removal of the amnesty boss due to his deliberate actions of neglecting party members in the state, while conspicuously involving in anti-party activities which has caused negative impacts to the party since assumption in office.
He stated that the amnesty boss continuous actions of anti-party activities has caused major setbacks for the party in the state since assumption in office, mostly the support of opposition party candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
“There are clear indications that from the inception of his appointment, Mr. Ndiomu has never identified with the party leadership at various level, neither partake in any activity organized by the party. This is a sufficient ground to validate the veracity of our claim that he is not a member of the APC.
“It beats the imagination of all sane and discerning minds that all the appointments made by the amnesty boss within the national agency were drawn from the PDP, while neglecting the APC, and such actions are at the detriment of loyal APC members, which is the reason for the disenchantment and resentment by the party.
“Ndiomu donated food and medical items to be distributed to flood victims during the devasting flood amounting to millions of naira, which was expected to be distributed fairly without political party sentiments, but the food and medical items were only distributed to PDP members, while neglecting APC members in the state.
“The said new interim administrator is the sole sponsor of the PDP candidate in Sagbama Constituency 3 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Mrs Ebizi Brown Ndiomu, who is his younger sister. In several occasions, the amnesty boss has openly stated to mobilize the electorates to support the sister, having provided the needed resources to facilitate the campaigns.
“Ndiomu as a retired general, in the recent past, he had always made use of his military influence during elections to either give counter directives or prevent the security personnels from discharging their statutory functions. We wish to draw your attention to the unfortunate incident that took place in the 2019 general elections, when, he, with impunity, singlehandedly submitted the result of Southern Ijaw LGA.
The submitted results were contained with so many irregularities, all at the detriment of the APC, and favor of the PDP. Therefore, logical to extrapolate that if urgent measures are not taken to forestall and nip in the bud, a repeat of such sordid actions, which transpired in the 2019 general elections will be a tip of the iceberg, given his present status as a retired general and an Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty programme.
The Sagbama APC Chairman hereby call on President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Tinubu, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, to terminate the appointment of Maj-General Barry Tariye Ndiomu (Rtd), as the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
